Regional Secretary talks about SMIITY to Smart Cities magazine

The Regional Secretary of Economy, Tourism and Culture of Madeira, Eduardo Jesus, in an interview with Smart Cities magazine, commented on the implementation of the SMIITY solution in that Autonomous Region, as well as the advantages for the population and tourism.

“We believe that the SMIITY platform responds positively to the identified needs and contributes, at the same time, to the affirmation of Madeira in the field of innovation and use of new technologies in favor of the community, a bet that, in fact, is visible in other areas and other projects that we have been developing in this region, with particular emphasis on tourism”, said Eduardo Jesus, on how the implementation of SMIITY is framed in the strategy of the city of Funchal and the region.

As for the expansion of SMIITY to more locations within Funchal and also in the rest of Madeira, Eduardo Jesus says that “at this moment, are defined almost two dozen points of interest in the city of Funchal, where the beacons will be installed. “The idea is that we can gradually grow, increasing the number of beacons in this city and in the entire region. In practice, we are talking about a new communication strategy, intended, fundamentally, for those who visit us”, adds the Regional Secretary.
