On last May 29th, SMIITY attended the Forum ‘Electronic Administration and Simplification of Procedures’ where it presented its solution in the scope of ‘Digital and Interactive Rural Territories’.
Sabugal is one of the SMIITY destinations that takes advantage of this solution for smart cities. This forum was another way to demonstrate the work we have developed in this area and that the interior has not been forgotten.
The ‘Digital Rural Community’ is a collaboration project between the public administrations of Portugal and Spain, approved in the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A (Spain-Portugal) 2014-2020 (POCTEP) with co-financing through ERDF funds. This aims to constitute a Digital Rural Network, by establishing a continuous innovation network between local cross-border entities, developing a platform of open technological solutions for the modernization of local administration and implementing digital public services of smart cities or territories (Smart City/Smart Territory).
The project includes a set of training actions on innovation and ICT use aimed at citizens, companies, civil servants and ICT technicians from local public administrations.
The ‘Digital Rural Community’ includes the Municipal Councils of Sabugal and Almeida, on behalf of Portugal, and the Department of Development and Environment of the Junta de Castilla y León, Organismo Autónomo de Recaudación y Gestión Tributaria de la Diputación de Salamanca (REGTSA) and the Diputación Provincial de Valladolid, on behalf of Spain.
Thank you to Sabugal Municipality, our partner Skillmind Group and all those present.
